Forming Fabrics

In a paper machine a forming fabric assists in sheet formation and conveys the sheet through the section. Perlon-Monofil has a long reputation of being a global leader in manufacturing different polyamide monofilaments with a fineness of 0,50 mm down to 0,09 mm in various qualities.

The properties of our monofilaments are tailor-made to produce an optimal smoothness of the technical fabric surface and lowest curling in various kinds of complex weaved designs. Shrinkage, modulus, tensile strength are keywords and the combination of these properties in a yarn together with the weave construction determines the forming fabric quality. One of the mayor specific demands on monofilament for forming fabric application is failure free yarn with a very tight diameter variation control.

Perlon-Monofil has a 100% online check on these parameters and can thus insure failure free delivery of monofilaments. Due to a long relationship with the PMC industry Perlon-Monofil was able to set a standard for polyamide monofilaments. During the last 5 years Perlon-Monofil has also developed a full product range for Polyester application in PMC.
